The South Sudan Football Association and the Sudan Football Association have today signed an historic Memorandum of Understanding in order to facilitate increased cooperation between the two associations. The MOU was signed by SSFA President Francis Amin and Sudan FA President Mutasim Gafaar Sirelkhatim, which outlined an enhanced coordination and a collaboration in regards to coaching, referees and administrative fields.

FIFA has provided $1 million USD

FIFA has provided $1 million USD in funding for CECAFA to hold the upcoming CECAFA Under-17 and second Women’s championships respectively in November and December. In today’s press conference, CECAFA President Mutasim Gafaar Sirelkhatim assured that they are ready to conduct the tournaments this year and they will confirm the arrangements in tomorrow’s CECAFA General Assembly, which is being held in Khartoum.

South Sudan’s local referees are currently undertaking an examination

South Sudan’s local referees are currently undertaking an examination to receive the international refereeing accreditation. SSFA President Francis Amin encouraged the referees to work hard to reach their goal of becoming international referees and wish them luck in their examinations. Currently, there are 8 international referees in South Sudan, with a further 27 referees now taking the examinations.
