The Bright Starlets, South Sudan’s U-23 team will camp in Uganda starting this week as they prepare to take on Tunisia in the second round 2 of the U-23 AFCON 2019/2020 Olympic qualifier.

“We have decided that the team travels to Uganda and camp there ahead of the first leg with Tunisia on March 20th in Juba,” said Francis Amin Micheal, the President South Sudan Football Association (SSFA).
The SSFA President explained that training in Uganda will help the team concentrate and train better without any interruptions. “We need to get a good result in the home game before the away game on March 24th,” added the SSFA President.
He explained that they had made a decision to first play the game against Tunisia at the Juba National Stadium the facility is closed for construction to start under the FIFA Forward Programme.
After the second round the teams that make it will battle in the final round between June 3-11th to determine the seven nations to join hosts Egypt.
The 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations is scheduled for November 8-22. The top three countries automatically qualify to represent the continent at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games football tournament.
