The
Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Ugandan referees to
handle a Group C 2019 Afcon qualifier tie between hosts Mali and South Sudan
slated for March 23rd in Bamako.
Alex Muhabi will be in-charge as the centre referee, while Dick Okello and Isa Masembe will be the assistants. William Oloya, also from Uganda will be the fourth official for the game to take place at the Stade De Bamako.
Mali who
have already qualified for 2019 Afcon have 11 points from five games played.
They beat South Sudan 3-0 in their first meeting in Juba last year in
September.
Although South Sudan have lost all their five qualifying games played, they have managed to score two goals and conceded 15.
Originally
the 2019 Afcon was meant to take place in Cameroon, but eventually the
tournament was moved to Egypt. CAF made it clear that Cameroon was slow in making
necessary arrangements to host the tournament.
