Uganda Cranes tactician Sebastien Desabre has said they will not take South Sudan’s team for granted when they face-off in July.
South Sudan and Uganda Cranes will battle in the first round of the 2020 Total Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
The Bright Stars will host Uganda’s national team in the first between July 26-28th before the return leg is played in Kampala between August 2-4th in Kampala.
“The training that started on Monday is helping me access the players that will also be ready for the CHAN qualifier against South Sudan. We cannot take South Sudan for granted and that is why we must start preparing early,” said the French born coach.
The winner over two legs will battle the winner between Rwanda and Somalia in round two. But the Bright Stars are also expected to have a new foreign coach ahead of CHAN qualifier.
Forty-seven teams will engage in the qualifiers to determine the 15 teams that qualify to join automatic qualifiers Ethiopia who are the hosts. Morocco are the reigning champions.
