South Sudan’s team is not present at the on-going U-17 Total Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Dar es salaam, but Victor Lual Lual is carrying the country’s flag high at the tournament.
Lual Lual who is a member of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) is one of the tournament general cordinators selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
“I am happy that CAF selected me to be part of the general coordinators at this tournament. It helps me to get the exposure and experience,” Laul Lual said on Monday after being part of the Group B games at the Chamazi Stadium.
The U-17 Afcon mant for players under 17 years kicked off on April 14th and will climx on April 28th. The openi ng match saw Nigeria beat Tanzania 5-4, while angola defeated Uganda Cubs 1-0.
Cameroon stopped Guinea 2-0 in the first Group B game on Monday before Senega fought from a goal down to hold Morocco to a 1-1 draw.
The best two teams in each of the two groups will automatically qualify for the U-17 FIFA World Cup to take place later this year in Brazil.
