Infantino promises to visit South Sudan
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has promised to visit South Sudan on a fact finding mission on how best football in the country can be further supported.
Infantino was re-elected unopposed during the 69th FIFA Congress in Paris, France on Wednesday.
Francis Amin Michael, President of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) who also attended the Congress congratulated Infantino upon being re-elected for another four years. “As South Sudan we are committed to work with Infantino’s far sighted leadership,” added Amin.
The SSFA President also disclosed that Infantino has promised to visit South Sudan. “He promised to visit South Sudan in order to see how best SSFA can be supported,” revealed Amin.
Infantino visited South Sudan in 2016 immediately after he had been elected FIFA President.
The World soccer governing body, FIFA, through the FIFA Forward Fund has already allocated about US5,000,000 for the renovation of the Juba stadium.
