Atlabara FC win South Sudan League
Atlabara Football Club are the 2019 South Sudan League champions.
The Juba based Club played to a 0-0 draw against Al-Hilal FC in the final match of the South Sudan Club Champions League on Wednesday at the Wau Stadium.
The two teams created decent scoring opportunities in each half but failed to find the back of the net.
Going into the final Atlabara FC had humbled Al-Gadishia FC 4-1, while Al-Hilal settled for a 1-all draw against Al-Gadishia.
“We have worked hard to win this title and we shall continue to work hard as we prepare to represent South Sudan on the continent,” said the Atlabara FC coach Mores Machile.
Mary Rose, the Minster of Information and Cluster Youth and Sports of Wau State also graced the final match which was watched by a big crowd.
The Champions League started last month with teams battling in Group A, B and C before the best teams in each group qualified for the final round.
The winner of the Championship will represent South Sudan in the 2019 Cecafa Kagame Club Championships in Kigali in July and the CAF Champions League which kicks-off in August.
