South Sudan’s
U-23 defender Pal Paul Puk has traveled to South Korea to join Third Division side
Gunga FC.
The talented
Puk was part of the team that ejected Uganda in the 2020 Olympic qualifiers
before they fell to Tunisia in the next round this year.
“We are
happy for Puk that he will get a chance of becoming a professional and this
will help him as a player and South Sudan as a country,” said Francis Amin
Michael, President of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA).
Puk who featured for Mounkie FC in South Sudan traveled to Seoul, South Korea on Thursday where he is expected to sign a contract with the Club. He joins another South Sudan player Martin Dominic who has been playing in Seoul.
SSFA President Amin said his wish is to have as many South Sudan players playing professional football as it will help in the development of the national teams and also encourage other players to work harder.
