It’s action time this evening at the Kamuzu Stadium as the Bright Star of South Sudan battle hosts Malawi Flames in their opening Group B match of the 2021 Total Africa Nations Cup (Afcon) qualifier.
Ashu Cyprian
Besong, the Bright Star head coach made it clear they have a good game plan for
the game in Blantyre.
“This game
is very important because it is the first one in the group. We shall go with
the hope of getting a good result before we host Burkina Faso in a few days,”
said the coach.
Joseph Kuch
who netted two goals in the preliminary round against Seychelles and Koang Thok
who also has one goal to his credit will be some of the key players Besong
looks to for the goals.
The Malawi
Flames coach Meck Mwase said he was happy that some foreign based players had
finally traveled for the game.
“We were not
sure the foreign players would travel for the game. But we are happy they are
here and it is a game we are ready for,” said Mwase.
After the game today the Bright Star will next host Burkina Faso on November 17th in Khartoum, while Malawi battle Uganda Cranes in Kampala.
