The training was officially opened this evening by the Hon. Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports; Dr. Nadia Arop Dudi at South Sudan Hotel in Buluk, Juba. This training brings in 35 Referees from South Sudan. 8 (Eight) of them are officiating at international level and the remaining 27 Referees officiate at national and local federations level. The training session will go for four (4) days and is being supported by CAF.
The Hon. Minister Dr. Nadia Arop Dudi briefed the trainees and appreciated the role being played under the current leadership of SSFA for building the capacities of South Sudan Referees. She urged the Referees to uphold the skills given to them and requested them to double their efforts so as to qualify for international level like the other eight (8) international Referees from South Sudan.
Mr. Francis Amin the President of SSFA assured the administration of the local federations that, SSFA will exert all of its effort in order to build capacity of football cadres at all levels. He said that the executive body at SSFA will continue to lobby for more opportunities from CECAFA,CAF and FIFA for these chances.
From his side, Mr. Chikwudi Chukwujekwu in his capacity as the CAF Instruction expressed his willingness to support in development of the capacities of South Sudan Referees such that, they can qualify for the international level. HE urged them to work hard with commitment, dedication and sacrifice of their time for better improvement and recognition.
