Ahmad to visit South Sudan after Africa Cup of Nations

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad has confirmed that he will visit South Sudan.

Francis Amin Michael, President of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) confirmed that Ahmad has written to confirm he will visit South Sudan after the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

The 2019 Afcon will take place between June 21st to July 19th in Egypt. “Although we are yet to get the exact dates for the visit, we are excited that the CAF President has decided he will visit South Sudan to see some of our football development projects,” added Amin.

During his official visit to Djibouti which ended on Wednesday the CAF President reaffirmed that he will visit South Sudan. “I have heard a lot about South Sudan and will visit the country,” said Ahmad.

Since his election in March 2017 Ahmad has visited few member nations in the Council for East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) like Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania and now Djibouti.
