CECAFA selects referee Madir Dehia for Kagame Cup

South Sudan’s Gasim Madir Dehia is among the referees selected to officiate at the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Club Championship that runs July 6-21 in Rwanda.

The tournament partly sponsored by Rwanda President Paul Kagame has attracted 16 teams including three guest sides from Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“We are happy that Madir Dehia will have the chance to get more international exposure at the Kagame Cup,” said the SSFA secretary general, Anthony John Lauro.

Meanwhile, Green Eagles FC started their campaign in the CECAFA Kagame Cup with a 2-0 win over Heegan FC (Somalia) on Saturday at the Kigali Stadium. Kennedy Musonda and Spencer Sautu scored for the Zambian side.

On Sunday South Sudan Premier League champions Atlabara FC will face Tanzania’s KMC FC in a Group A match at the Kigali Stadium.
