Malong selected to officiate All Africa Games in Morocco
South Sudan’s Ring Nyier Akech Malong is among the 12 referees who have been selected to handle matches at the 2019 All Africa Games to take place August 19-30 in Morocco.
Malong who recently officials at the regional CECAFA Kagame Club Championships in Rwanda will be expected to travel to Morocco early before the Games start for training and medical checks.
Two other match officials selected from the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) region who will officiate at the Games include Omar Abdulkadir Artan (Somalia) and Rachid Waiss Bouraleh from Djibouti.
The football competition at the Games will feature the men and women. Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, South Africa and Senegal are the men’s teams that will take part.
The Games will be played in four cities: Rabat, Casablanca, El Jadida, and Salé. Morocco stepped in to host the Games after Equatorial Guinea withdrew from hosting the event.
Besides football, the other games that will feature at the 2019 All Africa Games include; Athletics, Rowing, Badminton, Basketball 3×3, Volleyball, Boxing, Canoe-Kayak, Cycling, Chess, Fencing, Judo, Weightlifting, Handball, Gymnastics, Karate, Wrestling, Swimming, Taekwondo, Tennis, Table Tennis, Triathlon, Archery, Shooting and Snooker.
