SSFA Graduates 40 Women from Leadership Training
Today marks another landmark for South Sudan Women’s Football Fraternity as more than 40 women graduated from leadership training.
The 6 day course aims to equip women with leadership skills to lead female football activities in the country. The closing ceremony was attended by President of South Sudan Football Association (SSFA), Mr. Francis Amin Michael together with the Board of Directors, and Mr. Mujahid Ali, Advisor to the President of South Sudan for Investment Affairs.
Mr. Amin urges the participants to implement what they have learned at grassroots levels in order to achieve a common goal for women’s football in the country, assuring women’s football in South Sudan of the Associations support.
On behalf of the students, Mrs. Hawa Adam Joseph from Yei Local Football Association described the training course as an important achievement for women football in South Sudan as they will be able to manage themselves, especially when it is the first of its kind to happen in South Sudan. Mrs. Hawa Adam Joseph urges her colleagues to put what they have learnt into practice to achieve better output towards driving women’s to higher level.
On her part, Mrs. Beldine Lilian Achieng, an instructor from Confederation of African Football (CAF) thanked the South Sudan Football Association for its interest in developing women’s football in the country through holding courses, saying that South Sudan has many women who can play many roles in order to develop football.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sallyi Lolaco, SSFA Technical Director asked for the need to continue more courses for women in the country, describing the training course as the first of its kind in the country, saying its importance came when women are to establish first women’s championship in the country soon.
