More than 30 Referees Start Refereeing Course in Juba

South Sudan Football Association (SSFA), has launched a five-days training course for more than thirty Referees today in Juba.

Today 18.10.2021 at Juba Land Mark Hotel; The President of South Sudan Football Association (SSFA), Mr. Augustino Maduot Parek inaugurated a five-days workshop for the football referees in the Republic of South Sudan, organized by the International Federation of Football (FIFA) under the supervision of the Chairperson of Referees Committee at Confederation of African Football (CAF) Mr. Ntagungira Celestin. In attendance was the Secretary General SSFA Mr. Victor Lawrence Lual.

The five (5) days’ workshop will tackle several topics including practical and theoretical for the active referees and assessors from sixteen (16) Local Football Associations in South Sudan.

The SSFA President, Mr. Maduot during the opening ceremony said the workshop came out of the priorities of the current administration of SSFA to raise the capacities and numbers of the referees in the country both males and females. He also said, SSFA is working very hard with CAF and FIFA to increase the numbers of Referees in South Sudan and into the list of FIFA International Referees both males and females. In his final remarks, the President plead to the referees to work fairly while officiating matches according to the Laws of the Game and stay away from thing that deem their careers.

The Chairperson of the Referees Committee at Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mr. Ntagungira Celestin, said; he is very happy to be in the Republic of South Sudan, in order to participate in this training workshop for the progress and building the standard of the Referees of SSFA for better flow of the matches and regional participations. He called on the referees to hard work very hard and diligently to achieve their dreams and help in development of football in this Country.

In his final remarks, he pointed out the importance of the referees being granted chance to acquire modern knowledge, which helps the referees to develop and performance their duties according to Laws o the Game.
