About SSFA Online
SSFA Online — Soccer Stats For Africa is an independent reference site about African football. We bring together open data on players, national teams, clubs and tournaments and turn it into pages that answer the questions fans actually ask.
What you will find here
- 20464 player profiles with club careers, international caps and goals, birthplaces and age.
- Every recorded match of African national teams since the 1950s (12017 games) with head-to-head records for every pairing.
- Africa Cup of Nations history: every edition, final, all-time table and scorer list.
- Nationality explainers for players who were born in one country and represent another.
- Lists nobody else publishes: African players by league and season, by club, by birthplace and by diaspora route.
- Elo ratings for all African national teams, recalculated after every new result.
Who runs the site
SSFA Online is run by a small independent team of football data enthusiasts. We are not affiliated with the South Sudan Football Association (which previously used this domain), the Confederation of African Football (CAF), FIFA, any national association, league or club. Names and marks of competitions and teams belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.
How the content is made
Our pages are generated from structured open data, chiefly Wikidata and a public-domain database of international results, then checked automatically for consistency. Short summaries are written from those facts; we never invent quotes, transfer rumours or opinions. Read more in our data & methodology notes and our editorial policy.
