On 12th April, the President of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA), General Augustino Maduot Parek, arrived in Yambio from Juba for a three-day visit. His visit marks the first-ever by an SSFA President to western Equatoria State since assuming office.
Upon his arrival at Yambio Airstrip, General Parek expressed his purpose for the visit, emphasizing the importance of football in uniting people. He stated, “My coming here is to meet with Yambio Local Football Association (YLFA) and the government of this state to discuss modalities for making football a uniting factor in the state.”
During his visit, General Parek plans to meet with the YLFA Board of Directors and state government officials and other state dignitaries to discuss the progress of football in western Equatoria State. His visit aims to boost morale and promote football as a tool for unity and development in the region.
General Parek was warmly received at Yambio Airstrip by the YLFA President Joseph Ndende Ndepi , Board of Directors of YLFA and local football clubs. His visit underscores SSFA’s commitment to promoting football at the grassroots level and fostering unity through sports.
The SSFA President is accompanied by Mr. Mujahid Ali Mohammed SSFA board member and Mr. William Okot SSFA consultant who had arrived earlier yesterday for a two days administrative workshop with Yambio local Football Association clubs administrators.
