SSFA Board of Directors in its ordinary meeting no 9/2023 held on October 13, 2023, the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) Board of Directors discussed and resolved several important matters. Here are the key decisions made during the meeting:

  1. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SAFF: The board received a briefing from the president regarding his visit to Saudi Arabia and the signing of an MOU with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF). The details of the MOU were discussed, highlighting the potential benefits and collaborations between the two football associations.
  2. Regulations on Player Status and Transfers: The board passed the regulations on the status and transfers of players for the year 2023. These regulations will govern player transfers and related matters within the South Sudanese football system.
  3. Negotiations with Shortlisted Coaches: The board authorized the national team committee to proceed with negotiations with the proposed shortlisted coaches for the senior national team. This step aims to appoint a suitable head coach who can lead the team to success.
  4. FIFA Delegation Briefing: The board received a briefing on the recent visit of a FIFA delegation. The delegation’s main purpose was to discuss proposed amendments to the SSFA statutes and Electoral code. Additionally, they discussed the progress of stadium development and the implementation of FIFA Forward 3.0 projects in South Sudan.
  5. Nasir LFA Football Association: The board approved the formation of the steering committee for the Nasir Local Football Association (LFA) Led by Mr. Daboul Kueth Nhail. This decision followed the successful holding of their extraordinary General Assembly on October 10, 2023. The Nasir LFA will now operate under the guidance and regulations of the SSFA. The steering committee will continue working until the end of tue season in 31st May 2024 and should hold their elections.
  6. Appointment of Chairperson of Finance Committee: The board approved the appointment of Ms. Anna Nyakuet Taker is the new Chairperson of the Finance Committee. Her expertise and leadership will contribute to the financial management and stability of the SSFA.

These resolutions highlight the SSFA’s commitment to various aspects of football development, including international collaborations, player regulations, coaching appointments, governance amendments, local football association support, and financial management.

The SSFA continues to work towards the growth and improvement of football in South Sudan, aiming to achieve success at both national and international levels.
