Monday, 5th 2025 — In a momentous press conference, Gen. Augustino Maduot has been welcomed as the new President of CECAFA and the SSFA.
His endorsement as interim President by the Executive Committee during their meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, marks a significant step forward. Maduot expressed gratitude towards Wallace Karia, Former President of CECAFA and the members of the EXCO for their support, emphasizing the importance of this opportunity for South Sudan.
He acknowledged the privilege of leading CECAFA for the next Seven Month until January, 2026 when CECAFA will hold General Elective Assembly, and urging South Sudanese to embrace this golden chance wholeheartedly. This transition highlights a renewed commitment to regional sports development and cooperation. Maduot’s leadership is expected to bring fresh perspectives and strategies to enhance the role of CECAFA in fostering unity and competitiveness among member nations.
