 South Sudan FA closing seven-day referees training programme in Rumbek,

The closing ceremony of a seven-day training for football referees was successfully held in Rumbek, marking another significant milestone in the development of football officiating in Lakes. During the ceremony, over 30 referees who completed this advanced training program were awarded certificates.

Speaking at the event, Hon. William Kojji Kirjok, Minister of Youth and Sports representing the Lakes State government, commended the leadership of the South Sudan Football Association, particularly the President, for prioritising human capacity development. He emphasised that such initiatives are crucial for the advancement of football in South Sudan.

Albino Kuek, the Spokesperson of SSFA, reiterated the association’s commitment to raising the standard of refereeing as a core part of its mission to develop football across the country. He described the training as a key milestone for the growth of football in Rumbek and extended appreciation to the Rumbek Local Football Association for its dedication to developing local cadres.

In his remarks, Ater Deng Mabok, President of the Rumbek LFA, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the SSFA instructors for equipping local referees with modern refereeing skills. He pledged to continue organising more effective training programs to enhance the capacity of referees in the region.

The event was graced by the presence of the Mayor of Rumbek Municipality, officials from SSFA,

and the instructors who conducted the training, officials from Rumbek Local Football Association, making it a moment of celebration and renewed commitment to football development in Rumbek and beyond.
