Today, 20th Feb 2025, marks a significant milestone for the South Sudan Football Association as it launches its inaugural Talent ID Scout Course, themed “Give Every Talent a Chance.” This initiative represents a pivotal step in nurturing and identifying football talent within the nation, and it promises to enhance the careers of participants significantly.

In his opening remarks, Gen. Augustino Maduot, President of the South Sudan Football Association, underscored the importance of the course. He noted that it is an invaluable opportunity for the participants, emphasizing that the skills and knowledge gained could potentially lead to financial benefits. Gen. Maduot urged all attendees to take the course seriously, advocating for the practical application of their learnings in identifying players for the national team. His appreciation for the ongoing support from CAF and FIFA highlights the collaborative efforts aimed at building capacity in South Sudan’s sports sector.

Mr. Alshiekh Chol, the Deputy Secretary General of SSFA, echoed this sentiment, commending Gen. Maduot for his unwavering commitment to football development. He encouraged the participants to fully utilize this opportunity, reinforcing that the SSFA management is dedicated to providing all necessary support to enhance football development across the country.

The presence of Ali Mwebe, Football Development Director for the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), further adds to the significance of this event. As the course instructor, Mwebe expressed a strong willingness to collaborate with SSFA, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral ties between South Sudan and Uganda. He recognized the positive working relationship between the leadership of FUFA and SSFA, which has facilitated this essential training program. Mwebe confirmed that although the course will last only two days, it will be intensive and packed with valuable insights. He assured participants that they would receive the best of their knowledge, aimed at advancing football development in both nations.
