The Vice President of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA), Mr. Charles Udwar, convened a meeting today at the SSFA headquarters with a FIFA delegation led by Mr. Bueano Sanchez and Mr. Giaconin Alberto, a FIFA instructor for the school project. The discussions centered on implementing FIFA’s initiative to introduce football for schools in Juba, South Sudan, in the upcoming days. The delegation also deliberated on forthcoming workshops for school stakeholders. Subsequently,
accompanied by SSFA Secretary General Mr. Victor Lawrance Lual, the delegation proceeded to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
There, they visited the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Hon. Debora Akech, to discuss FIFA’s initiative—Football For School. This program aims to educate the youth and deepen their understanding of football. Hon. Debora Akech, the Undersecretary, expressed gratitude to FIFA for this initiative and affirmed the ministry’s commitment to close collaboration in strengthening and developing football in South Sudan.
Simultaneously, the FIFA delegation visited the Ministry of Education, where they were received by Omot Olok, Director of Curriculum Development at the Ministry of General Education & Instruction (MoGE&I) in Juba. The meeting was successful, with the Ministry of Education expressing readiness to collaborate closely with SSFA. Their shared goal is to use football as a tool to reshape the mindset of the youth, promoting peace and stability within society.
