The FIFA Workshop for Football for Schools (F4S) in South Sudan was officially concluded today in Juba. The course was launched on the 24th-26th of January in Juba.

The training sessions for that particular training was supervised by FIFA instructors, Mr. Alberto Giacomini and Antonio Sanchez.

At the closing ceremony, the representative of FIFA, Mr. Sanchez said that school sports program is one of the goals of FIFA president Mr. Gianni Infantino, which is made to develop football in schools, and called on everyone to support the school project.

School sports have many meanings and FIFA want to spread it all over the world because it brings peaceful coexistence between communities, creates respect among people and also make students ambassadors for peace through sports, Antonio said.

Meanwhile SSFA SG, Mr. Victor Lawrence said that, the implementation FIFA programs for schools in South Sudan requires management to ensure its success in the country, calling on the Ministrt of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to support to school sports programs in the country.

The vice president of SSFA, Charles Udwar, stressed out that the federation is working tirelessly to to implement the school sports project all over South Sudan.

Udwar extended his application to FIFA for its support to South Sudan through capacity development programs in schools in South Sudan.

On his part, the Director General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Edward Satimon said that the ministry is working hard to pay attention to all sports activities in the country.

The ministry works with the federation to ensure that success in school sports programs in the country is achieved, Edward added.

Edward also called on the federation to develop capabilities of administrators working in the field of sports country wide.

Finally, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, confirmed that the ministry is very important in sports, especially after considering the words of the president of the Republic, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, who said that national sports in the country connects the society fabric between the citizens of the country, stressing that the ministry’s commitment is to work with the football association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to implement school sports programs in South Sudan.

He urged the coaches to reach with the experience to their local associations and spread is widely in the country.

The event was also attended Teachers, Coaches and SSFA Members of the Board of Directors.
