The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has officially extended the term of office for the Aweil Local Football Association. During an extraordinary board meeting (No. 10/2024), chaired by SSFA President Augustino Maduot Parek, this decision was made.
The extension comes in light of ongoing administrative preparations between the SSFA administration and the SSFA Electoral Committee. Initially, the Aweil Local Football Association election was slated for 21st October 2024. However, logistical considerations have pushed the election to a later date.
The SSFA board has approved a new deadline, extending the association’s term to 30th November 2024. This extension allows for the completion of necessary arrangements ahead of the election.
The Aweil Local Football Association is expected to continue its work during this period and ensure a smooth transition when elections are held.
Victor Lawrence Lual, the Secretary General of the SSFA, confirmed the decision, adding that the extension is vital for proper election planning and maintaining the stability of the association during the interim period.
