South Sudan Football Association (SSFA), on December 19th in Juba officially launched the first South Sudan League season 2023/2024 for the U-17 and U-20.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by government officials in the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other officials from the sports fraternity.
The Director of Sports in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Edward Setimo commended the leadership of SSFA for initiating the youth league, saying the government is working around the clock to ensure that sports activities are well promoted.
On his part, the president of SSFA, Mr. Augustino Maduot conveyed his appreciation to the government, FIFA, and companies for their wavering support towards the development of football in South Sudan—he asserted that his leadership is working tirelessly according to FIFA and CAF specifications to ensure that talent is promoted at the grassroots level, adding that the future of South Sudan sports depends on the younger generations and that’s what everyone should invest in.
Mr. Maduot appreciated CapitalPay, Masson Rhys International, and Kulang Foundation for their support to ensure that the event was a success, calling the other companies to follow the same footprints.
The SSFA Chairperson of the Competition Committee, Mr. Wiyual Lampuoch reiterated SSFA’s commitment towards the development of younger talents, calling on investors in the country to pay special attention to promoting youth’s talents.
Meanwhile, the founder of Kulang Foundation, Mr. Gatwich Kulang appreciated the leadership of SSFA for paying special attention to youth activities, ensuring that his foundation is committed to providing necessary support for youth’s development in the country.
